Understanding Tendinopathies of the Hip and Pelvis (A Hybrid Workshop)
January 12, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - January 13, 2018 @ 5:15 pm PST$649
Tendinopathies of the hip and pelvis represent a large burden on both the sporting and aging populations. Growing evidence is shaping contemporary conservative management of tendinopathy. This course provides participants with guidance towards a deeper understanding of tendinopathies of the hip and pelvis, and more effective clinical management. The information presented is based on an emerging evidence base derived from scientific studies on structure and mechanobiological mechanisms, risk factors, impairments and the available information on effects of intervention, including over 25 years of clinical experience.
The course includes an online theoretical component (1 online course: Understanding Tendinopathies of the Hip & Pelvis – Online Learning: 3-3.5 hours online) and a 1 and 1/2 day practical which includes the use of real time ultrasound imaging (provided by Sonosite). The practical component of the workshop includes diagnostic testing, load management and a progressive series of rehabilitative exercises for each tendinopathy. The course will include assessment and management of: Gluteal tendinopathy, proximal hamstring tendinopathy, iliopsoas tendinopathy and iliopsoas related groin pain and adductor tendinopathy and adductor related groin pain. Real time ultrasound will be used for targeted assessment of the hip flexors and abductors effected by tendinopathy at the anterior and lateral hip. The course size will be limited to ensure a participant to ultrasound machine ratio of no more than 3:1. Register early to secure your seat and get the lowest price! California physical therapy CEUs are pending. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. Additionally, lunch will be provided on Saturday for the course participants. Click here for the course outline and schedule.
